Turn Off a PIN
Parents can turn off the PIN a Child uses to borrow a Device. This may be because the filtering of the Devices is acceptable for all Family members using the devices. Or, a Parent may want to stop an older Child from using their PIN to bypass the web content access times or filtering for younger Children. To do this, a Parent removes the older Child's PIN.
From a Parent's Android phone or tablet:
- In Family, tap your Child's icon
- Tap Edit
- Go to the bottom of the screen
- At Allow device borrowing using PIN, tap the toggle
Gray turns borrowing off
Blue turns borrowing on
- Tap Done to save the change
The PIN does not lock the Device. The PIN identifies the level of web content filtering for the user borrowing the Device. If your Child does not have a PIN and they use someone else's device, your Child will get the default content filtering and daily Routine (Play, School, Study, Sleep) of the Device Owner.
