Article type: Advanced options

At home, you may want to turn off filtering if your Child needs access to blocked content.

For example, some keywords associated with current events may be part of a broader group of blocked content. You may want to allow your Child to access the web pages and information to allow them to complete a homework assignment.

Turn Off Filtering for a Set Time

On your Child's phone or tablet:

  1. In the Connect App, tap the gear icon
  2. Enter in your 4-digit parent PIN
  3. At Family Zone enabled, tap the toggle until it is gray (off)
  4. Select how long you want filtering turned off
    (30 Minutes, 1 Hour, 2 Hours, 4 Hours, 8 Hours)
  5. In the upper-left, tap the ← back arrow

You are done. When the timer runs out, Family Zone filtering will turn back on. One quick note, if your Child is connected to their School network, disabling the filtering does not override the Schools content filtering.

Turn Filtering Back On

The filtering will turn back on when the timer runs out. The filtering can be turned back on with your Child's phone or tablet.

On your Child's phone or tablet:

  1. Open the Connect App
A filtering off icon and countdown timer will be visible
Tap the gray banner Tap to reactivate
  2. At the confirmation message, tap YES
  3. Your Child's daily Routine is active

Your Child's filtering and rules return to the regularly scheduled access Routine (Play, Study, School or Sleep).

Parents can turn off any of the following features on a personal device that is not managed by a School:

  • Device Location - the previous 5 days of locations where your Child's Android or iOS Devices were connected to a network
  • Device Monitoring  - the Connect app can be temporarily disabled on your Child's Android or iOS Devices
  • User Tracking - the reporting data captured in Red Alerts, Recent Activity, Snapshots, and Usage for all devices including your Child's computer and Android or iOS Devices
