Parents have the option to reassign Devices to another Family member. The Device Owner's age group determines the default level of monitoring on the Device.

From a Parent's Connect App

From a Parent's phone or tablet:

  1. In Settings, tap Devices 
  2. Review the list of Family members and their Devices

A Child's Phone or Tablet or the Family Zone Box 

As a Parent, you can see a Device Owner and a Borrower from your Child's phone or tablet. 

Premium Members in Australia and New Zealand can also use these steps to check any device connected to the filtered Family WiFi on the Family Zone Box.

  1. In Safari, Chrome or a web browser, go to the diagnostic page http://home.tools
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Troubleshooting stats 
    View the Device Owner and their Age profile 
    Also, see any Current user's borrowing the Device

The home.tools diagnostic page is ideal for devices connected to the filtered Family WiFi on the Box in Australia and New Zealand.

From Connect on a Child's Laptop

  1. Click on the Family Zone Connect icon
    Chrome - top-right in the Extensions area
    Mac - top-right in the Menu Bar
    Windows - in the Taskbar (shown here)
  2. Click REQUEST A CHANGE 
  3. Click Troubleshooting stats
  4. View the
    Device name
    Device owner

    Borrower (if the Device is currently being borrowed)
    Age profile for the active user

Change a Device Owner 

The Device Owner determines the default age group for the web content monitoring. The Device Owner is set during the install of Family Zone Connect. The Device Owner can be changed from a Parent's Connect App after the install is finished. 

When many Family members share a computer, set the Device Owner as the youngest member of your Family. Only the Parents and older Children will need to use their PIN or ask for permission to get their Age Profile access.

From a Parent's Connect App

On a Parent's phone or tablet:

  1. After completing the steps to see the Device Owner, tap on a Device 
  2. Tap Edit 
  3. Tap on Owned by 
  4. Tap on another Family member 
  5. Tap Done 
  6. Tap the ← left arrow

The new Device Owner will be displayed on the device within 30 seconds to 2 minutes after the Device connects to the Internet. Device Owners can only be changed in a Parent's Connect App.
