Manage YouTube Access
Parents may want to turn off YouTube access during Study or School time if your Child is distracted by videos. Options are available to block access to other common streaming media services from apps and websites.
From a Parent's phone or tablet:
- In Family, tap your Child's icon
- Move down and tap on Internet filters & rules
- Tap Web categories
- Select Search and streaming media
- Tap to turn YouTube access on or off during Play, School, Study or Sleep time
Blue allows access
Red blocks access - Your Child may be accessing videos from other apps or websites
Scroll down and block or allow access to other streaming video services
Blocking Mature Content also blocks uncategorized videos. Many school teachers publish videos to YouTube and do not categorize their videos. (Family Zone uses YouTube's category data to allow or block videos on your Child's devices to match your settings.)
If your Child has issues accessing a teacher's YouTube video, try allowing Mature content during Study or School daily Routine times.
