Is there a way to lock access to the Location Settings?

An advanced troubleshooting option for Parents is to lock your Child's access to the Location settings.

On your Child's iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open iOS Settings
  2. Tap Screen Time
  3. Tap Content and Privacy Restrictions
  4. Enter your iOS restrictions PIN (if it’s been set)
  5. Toggle the Content and Privacy Restrictions switch
  6. Tap Location Services
  7. Tap Allow changes
Green allows your Child to make changes
Gray prevents your Child from making changes
  8. Tap Back
  9. Tap the back arrow next to Content and Privacy Restrictions

We recommend you restart the device to clear out any open apps and have the restrictions load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn’t my child’s device look like that?

Your Child's iPhone or iPad may be using a different version of the iOS. See more from Apple for how to set Location Services

Will this impact my child’s ability to change the Location permissions for all apps?

Yes, your child will be able to adjust the Location permissions of any app they already have installed.

Is this turned on by default?

No. By default these restrictions are off. A Parent needs the Child's iPhone or iPad to turn on restrictions.
