Your next steps
You have your Child's Device
On your Child's Android phone or tablet:
- Open the Connect App, Tap to fix
- Tap 'Allow'
- At Connection request, tap OK
- Tap Done
- When you see your Child's name, restart their Android device
You see repeat VPN Alerts
Newer versions of Android may default to turning the VPN off or your Child may have turned the VPN off to access content. Take these steps to ensure the VPN automatically turns on. Android 11 (2020) shown here. Your manufacturer's version of Android may vary slightly.
On your Child's Android phone or tablet:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet
- Tap Advanced
- Tap VPN
- Tap the gear icon to the right of the Connect App
- At Always-on VPN, tap the toggle until it is blue (on)
Leave the Block connections without VPN gray (off) - In the upper-left, tap the ← left arrow 4 times to go back to Settings
- Restart your Child's Android device
Your Child's Android is more than 5 years old
The Alert may be appearing because the Android phone or tablet is running an unsupported, older version of the Android Operating System. Check to see if the version of Android your Child is using is still supported.

As Google has updated their Android Operating System, they have stopped supporting older versions of Android. The Connect App is updated to work with the current versions of Android.

Your Child may be turning off the VPN
