Your next steps

Older versions of Android hardware would turn off the tools used by the Connect App to provide cyber safe web content at all times on your Child's phone or tablet.

Your Child has an Android 10 or newer Device

Clear the Red Alert from the Connect App on a Parent's phone or tablet. No changes are needed for the Battery Management in Android 10 or newer.

You have your Child's Android 8 or Android 9 Device

First, you will need to update your Child's Android Operating System to ensure the battery management software is current.

As Google has updated their Android Operating System, they have stopped supporting older versions of Android. The Connect App is updated to work with the versions of Android currently supported by Android manufacturers.

To find the version of Android on your Child's phone and if an update is available see:

Next, reboot the phone or tablet and complete the following steps.

  2. In the red banner at the top of the screen, Tap to fix
    The Android Settings will open
  3. Tap on Battery Optimization
  4. On the drop-down menu, select All Apps
  5. Tap on Connect App
  6. Select Don’t optimize or Not optimized

Your Child's Android is more than 5 years old

The Alert may be appearing because the Android phone or tablet is running an unsupported, older version of the Android Operating System. Check to see if the version of Android your Child is using is still supported.
