How to Manage SafeSearch in a Web Browser?

From a computer:

  1. In a web browser, go to

  2. Sign in as a Parent

  3. In Family, select your Child's name

  4. To the right of the Age profile, select the age group

  5. Select on Web categories and select Search and streaming media

  6. Select on the different access periods to allow (blue) or block (red)
    Google and Bing
    Mature Search Content

  7. Changes are saved automatically
    After all the changes are done, select Family to change the settings for a Child in a different Age profile

What settings do I need to have for SafeSearch to be enabled?

Family Zone enables SafeSearch for you when Mature Search Content is blocked (red).

Do I need to save changes?

No, these changes are saved as you make them.

How do I know which Age Profile my child is in?

You can see what Age profile your child is in from their user dashboard accessed by going Users > Family then clicking on your child.

TIP: Selecting on the profile link will take you straight to the correct age profile for that child.

Should I allow access to “Other Search Engines”?

We don't recommend this. Family Zone is unable to control SafeSearch on other search engines.

How long does it take for the changes to take effect?

Changes can take up to 2 minutes to sync with your Child's devices connected to the internet.

Mature Search Content is blocked but my child can still see inappropriate images when they search, why?

There may be an issue with content filtering or SafeSearch enforcement.

What times are the different access periods?

The times for the different access periods are set in your child’s routine.
