How to Install Family Zone for Parents

If this is your first time using Family Zone, the Parent version of Family Zone must be installed and set up first. Your installation includes a free Insights membership. You will be able to monitor and see reports of the web activity on your Child's devices.

To install Family Zone on a parent's iPhone or iPad:

  1. In the App Store, INSTALL and OPEN the Family Zone app 
  2. Enter your email address, tap NEXT
  3. Read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
    Tap Next
  4. Enter your details
    First name
    Last name
    Password (and re-enter it)
    A 4-number PIN for access to your Child's device monitoring
  5. Check your email for a confirmation number
    The verification is only required the first time you sign up for a new account
  6. Return to the Family Zone app
    Enter the code from your email
  7. Tap PARENT
  8. At the Notifications pop-up, tap Allow
  9. Recommended, tap ACTIVATE BIOMETRICS
    This will ensure only you can open Family Zone and change web monitoring settings

Add Your Child's Details

Family Zone has specialized programs with selected Schools. If you see your Child's name with a checkbox, see Connect a Child to a US School in the iOS App. Use the steps below to add any additional Children who are not at a participating school.

Add your Child's details.

  1. In the upper-right, tap + Child
  2. Enter your Child's details
  3. In the upper top-right, tap Done
    Tap + Child to add more Family members
    Your Child's name will be listed in Family

Your first-time installation comes with a free Insights Membership. If you already have an account, sign in with your email and password to get your existing membership and settings on additional devices.

Using Your Insights Membership

Use Family Zone to check the last known Location of your Child's mobile devices. Parents will be able to see Recent Activity on any device with Family Zone installed and using your account -- including Windows, MacOS or Chromebook devices. 

You will receive Alerts of any potentially risky online activity or apps with explanations from our Cyber Experts on how to handle the issue. Family Zone gives you Snapshots and Weekly Reports of activity for all the monitored Devices.

The Premium Membership includes the ability for family members to borrow devices and get filtering appropriate for their age group. (Parents are not monitored by default.) 

Parents with a Premium Membership can also customize what time of day the internet is accessed across all your Child's devices running Family Zone.
