End the Borrowing of a Device
A parent account can end a child’s device borrowing session early, before the timer runs out. You can end the borrowing remotely from their phone or tablet, or directly from the web browser on your child's device. The device filtering will return to the device owner's age profile after the borrowing has ended.
From a Parent's Connect App
From a parent's phone or tablet:
- In Settings, tap Devices
- Tap on the borrowed Device
- Tap End Borrow
- Tap the ← left arrow
From a Laptop Running Connect
On your child's Mac, Windows or Chromebook running Connect:
- Select the Family Zone Connect icon
Chrome - top-right in the Extensions area
Mac - top-right in the Menu Bar
Windows - in the Taskbar (shown here) - Select REQUEST CHANGE
- Select Parent settings
- Enter your Parent PIN
Select NEXT - Select CANCEL LOAN
- At the Change successful confirmation, select OK
- Select Close now
From Your Child's Phone or Tablet
From your child's phone or tablet:
- The Connect App will show the Device is borrowed
- In Chrome. Safari or a web browser, go to http://home.tools
Tap Parent settings - Enter your 4-digit Parent PIN
Tap NEXT - Tap CANCEL LOAN
- At Change successful, tap OK
- Tap Close now to log out of your Parent account
The original device owner's cyber safety settings are synced through the internet with the device within 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
